About Vascular Wilts

Term description Crops of Special Concern
Vascular Wilts

Vascular wilts are caused by Verticillium and Fusarium species. The bacterial pathogens Xanthomonas, Clavibacter, and Ralstonia also cause wilt diseases in geranium, peppers, tobacco, and tomato. These pathogens are soil and seed borne and cannot be controlled with fungicide applications. Start with clean growing media, and disease-free seed and propagation material.
